Had never seen the green heron before. The sliders are common. Only seen the gators in captivity.

I would be frightened with the gators though

The would had to have jumped about 4 feet plus over a railing to get to us. You would have been safe.

It was a smallish gator probably only about 4 feet or so. I had to assume it was not hungry or the green heron would have been a snack. Happy Valentine’s to you, also.

Love the shot of the green heron – have never seen one. Not so the alligators – we get very large crocs in the NT and they are so scary.

The herons have such great facial features and of course the lovely plumage. Not a fan of gators or crocs. Only at a distance, thanks!

Marvelous photos! Your alligator looks like a formidable creature and your heron is a real beauty. Mustn’t forget to mention the turtle. I always love to see them.

Thanks, Denise. The gator was small and seemed content to just lie still. It was a somewhat chilly morning to that may be the reason for the sluggish activity. The birding center was filled with great creatures.

Ooh, alligators. Where I used to live there was a little creek by the park. We would sometimes see gators there. And when I was at Disney World back in November, one night the boat we were riding stopped for a few minutes. When that happened I heard some child behind me say she thought they stopped the boat because there was an alligator in the way and it had to cross safely in front of us. Lol!

What wonderful critters for today’s post! Love the alligator, the heron and the turtle! Great photos!
I’m surprised no one else told you this so you could go back and fix it. We all get flying fingers when we’re typing and typos do get through….but I thought you might like to know that you told us all to “poop” on over to Saturday’s Critters. 🙂
