A recent visit to California yielded these photos of an Anna’s hummingbird. This bird visited several times over the course of four days. It was a little skittish of my presence on its patio!
Second day mid morning capture.
The following are flash shots about 10 PM late one evening.
A friend joined the hummer for this shot.
For really terrific and varied birds fly on over to Stewart M. in Australia.
Thanks to host Stewart M.
Great photo captures and amazing colors on that bird. I did not know that they keep going after dark!

Thanks, Suzicate. We were on the Pacific side of the US. No ruby throats there : / I was told they were Anna’s. I did not know that, either!

I still love the ruby throat on it…it sparkles like a jewel, a ruby! I love how hummingbird colors, like the emerald as well sparkle.
