These are a few shots of gulls we saw while visiting South Padre Island last December. The first are on the beach of the Island facing out into the Gulf of Mexico. Not sure if these are Laughing (non-breeding) or Franklin (1st. winter) Gulls or some other group. It is a challenge to pick up on all the details of the birds for proper identifications.

Janice, South Padre is a beautiful spot to spend some time, even without a camera. The wind on the ocean can be a bit cold at times, but it is generally very lovely.

It was in the low 40’s the night we arrived but warmed the next day into the high 60’s.
