It is Friday and time for watching skies across the world. Hosts Yogi, Sylvia and Sandy kindly provide a site to enjoy the skies. Click here to enjoy the world views.
In my USA we are celebrating Independence Day. I received an ecard from a dear friend this morning with an Erma Bombeck quote:
“You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.”
So Hubby and I will head over to some friends’ home to enjoy just what Erma describes. We will finish the evening of the Fourth up on the fourth floor open parking area. See if I can get a few pictures of any fireworks in the area.
Here are a couple of shots of fireworks provided by The Sun this morning.
“WOOD” (Musical Instruments, Houses, Ships,…) is the Thursday Challenge for July 3. Living a brick, mortar, metal world sometimes makes it difficult to find wood. Real wood. There is some furniture but that would have required dusting. The submission I choose was a flower stand found on Cape Cod. A handmade sign on the road pointed to “flower stand”. We had to check it out and were not disappointed. More photo takes on the theme of wood can be found at Dale’s Thursday Challenge by clicking here.
The gift of a new camera has given rise to a little more time on the patio. This is a learning process for me! These are a few shots that clicked out this morning as I was just practicing. Hope you enjoy!
For more wild birds as shot in all their glory by accomplished photographers, fly on over to Wild Bird Wednesday. Stewart is the host for this photo meme based on birds and birders. And thanks for stopping by my place for a look see!
